For those who’ve been asking about some of the examples shown in the recent webinars, today we make available the template and example textfiles. Please use these resources get going with the Suggested Metadata fields of version 1.0 of the Digital Learning Asset Framework. Each can be opened with the default text editor on your computer (TextEdit on Mac, Notepad on Windows, etc.).
THE TEMPLATE (right-click or option click to “Save As…”)
This is a jumpstart for the Suggested Metadata of version 1.0 of the Digital Learning Asset Framework. It lists every one of the default fields, which you can then populate for each asset. If there are fields which don’t make sense in your particular organization, or additional ones that do, please edit/amend as appropriate.
THE EXAMPLE (right-click or option click to “Save As…”)
A sample of the template in use with the fictitious “Ellen Dee Treyning” project as demonstrated in the recent webinar and livestream. This lists all the fields in action, so you can see what the formatting looks like. Again, if something different works better for your organization, please feel free to make your own example and share it back to this project so we can discuss and incorporate your improvements in the next version.
Remember that these resources are only relevant to one part of the Framework, the Suggested Metadata. Tomorrow we’ll make another templated resource available to jumpstart your efforts in building our the Framework itself for your unique organization.
